May 3, 2022

Just in case you do have technology dread – I want to assure you there is nothing to fear, you really can build your website!

You just need the right tool to enable you to do what you want to do. And I want to make sure you have all the information you need so you can make the best decision for yourself!

And so that you don’t feel defeated right at the start, by the number of choices available, look at it as an either-or decision.

Website builders

You pick a package that meets your needs, then choose a template, customise it and add your text and images.

They can be brilliant for newbies as they make everything as simple as possible but this also means that they can be limiting and if you do need the more advanced options then it’s gonna cost ya!

Some of the current big players:

  • Squarespace
  • Wix
  • Weebly
  • GoDaddy
  • HostGator
  • Duda
  • Zyro

WordPress + a page builder

WordPress is the godfather of web design – so many platforms have tried to imitate it but have always fallen short. It can be a bit tricky to use but if you add a page builder into the mix then you’re good to go! As it means building your website will be loads easier but you’ll still have total control of it – both at the start and in the future.

Current page builders which are doing amazing things:

  • Divi
  • Elementor
  • Kadence
